- രക്തത്തില്‍ നിന്നും യൂറിയ, ജലം, ലവണങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെ അരിച്ചു മാറ്റുന്നത്‌ വൃക്കയാണ്‌.
- വൃക്കയിലുള്ള നേരിയ കുഴലുകളാണ്‌ നെഫ്രോണുകൾ.
- വൃക്കയിലെ കല്ല്‌ രാസപരമായി കാത്സ്യം ഓക്സലൈറ്റ്‌ ആണ്‌.
